2nd Sanremo Lecture on International Humanitarian Law

The Institute is glad to announce that the “Second Sanremo Lecture on International Humanitarian Law” will be held online, on 9th November 2021.

The lecture will be delivered by Professor Mary Ellen O’Connell, University of Notre Dame (United States), and will focus on:

The Evolving Concept of War within a Framework of International Law

The event will be introduced by Professor Edoardo Greppi, President of the Institute, and moderated by Professor Gabriella Venturini, Member of the Council of the Sanremo Institute. Launched on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Institute, the webinar series intends to contribute to the Institute’s overall mission of promoting and disseminating international humanitarian law. Lectures will be organised periodically with the contribution of authoritative and world-renowned scholars and experts in the field of IHL. The very first Sanremo Lecture on IHL was held by Professor Michael Bothe, Emeritus Professor of Public Law at the J.W. Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main and Member of the Institute.
