CELEBRATION OF THE 50th聽ANNIVERSARY OF THE SANREMO INSTITUTE聽(1970-2020)

Concluding virtual event on
Current challenges of children protection in armed conflict

 

The initiative, organised in close cooperation with the聽Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was held online on 4th聽February 2021 and consisted of a two-part programme:

  • An聽opening session,聽intended to celebrate the 50th聽anniversary of the Sanremo Institute, including a message from the President of the Italian Republic and with the participation of high representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs聽and International Cooperation and the United Nations
  • A聽thematic panel discussion on 鈥Current challenges of children protection in armed conflict鈥,聽addressing this topical issue with聽a view to the progress made in the field of protection in conflicts and forced displacement situations, as also called for by Italy鈥檚 pledge at the 2020 Red Cross conference
