The Institute is glad to announce the approval of the “
Policy implementation support and teacher empowerment for CITIZenship Education – CITIZED” project proposal by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the
European Commission.
The project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and coordinated by the Institute, will officially start on
December 1st, 2020, and will cover a period of 36 months. This notwithstanding, future partners agreed on organising a
virtual pre-kick-off meeting on 26th November 2020, mainly focused on developing a preliminary common view on the foreseen project activities.
CITIZED will be implemented by an international partnership which includes
Fondation des Régions Européennes puor la Recherche , l’Education, et la Formation (
FREREF);
Land der Menschen (
LdM) – an Austrian-based institution aimed at improving coexistence between natives and foreigners to break down prejudices; the
Organising Bureau of European School Student Union (
OBESSU); the
Ministry for Education and Employment (
MEDE) of Malta; the research Institute “
Zentrum POLIS” (Austrian Centre for Citizenship Education in Schools); and Université Côte d’Azur (
UCA).
CITIZED’s main aims are not only focused on providing some
concrete outputs in terms of analysis and review of existing policy approaches to citizenship education, but also, and particularly, to substantially contribute to a
quick implementation of the new generation of citizenship education, improving the
competences of teachers in this domain and supporting a
dynamic multiplication among schools which are willing to develop an institutional approach to the issue.
